Yesterday I spend a wonderful fun filled day with my friend Jeanine! We went to Washington State to visit her good friends and on the way we made some stops to photo ops! We stopped in Olympia and visited the State Capitol Buildings! WOW, magnificent architecture! I have lots of pics but will share them in many different posts.
Here is a gorgeous fountain on the Capital grounds. Jeanine and I would love to see it at night when it is lit up!
Here is the beautiful Dome on the Legislative Building! It is AWESOME! The Legislative Building houses the chambers of the Washington State Legislature. It houses both Chambers for the Senate and the House.
There is symbolism in the building which is very kewl!!!! For example, there are 42 steps leading up to the entrance as Washington State is the 42nd State in the Union!
In the Senate Chamber, the carpet has English Dogwood. In the House Chamber the carpet has large representations of the Pacific Rhododendron which is the State Flower and it also has forest trillium.
Our tour guide said the symbolism in the carpet is (The Senate is higher than the House, so therefore it has the Dogwood which the flower is HIGHER, and the Trilliums grow on the ground, and since the House is lower than the Senate, it has the Trilliums).
I am not into politics and wasn’t interested in Government in school, but it was fun to learn some facts in our tour!
