Today is my husband’s and my Anniversary and I so much love to cook so I made us a luscious meal and hubby really really loved it so it is a keeper recipe in my house!

My Cottage Pie which can also be known as Shepherds Pie depending on the ingredients that you use. I am broadening my horizons and trying meals from different regions. In both England and Ireland this dish is made and here is some history that I found on it.

A British or Irish meat pie made with beef mince and with a crust made form mashed potato. It is called Shepherd’s Pie  when lamb or mutton is used. Cottage pie is used with beef (but also historically with the scraps of pretty much any animal that might have been roaming about outside the cottage walls).

We both really loved this dish and I will definitely be making it again!
