The Portland Building and Portlandia Statue….

I spent 3 fun hours yesterday downtown taking photographs!

ThePortlandBuildingThis is the Portland Building and it sits next to City Hall. It was build in 1982 and in 2011 it was added to the National Register of Historic Places! I just may have to try and research how a building in 1982 can be added to that! It is really cool that it has though!!!!!

PortlandiaThis is the statue Portlandia! I wanted to take a photo of her before the trees sprout out their leaves and obscure her! This statue was sculpted by artist Raymond Kaskey. It is the second largest sculpture statue in the United States.

It is based on the design of the City Seal. She is 34 feet and 10 inches high and weighs 6.5 short tons!

All the information came from Wikepedia!

I love city charm, beautiful buildings that make our city!
