While driving home from my friends house, I spotted this beautiful country gem and had to pull over and take photos and enjoy it’s beauty!
This is the Old Scotch Church also known as Tualatin Plains Presbyterian.
It is a National historic site and the church dates back to 1873, the church structure dates back to 1878. I love the 8 sided steeple!
The cemetery surrounding the church has graves of church members and local pioneer Settlers of the Tualatin Plains which includes Joseph Meek! (I shall have to go back and try and find his grave marker!)
The first members of the church came from Aberdeenshire, Scotland and because the settlers are of Scottish origin, hence the name “The Old Scotch Church”!
I love historic buildings and the stories that they hold! What an awesome gem!

I wanted to stop in and wish you and Boo a Happy New Years!
