    We want to get a dog, preferably either a young trained adult dog of older housebroken puppy. Do you have any suggestions?

      I rescued Lucy from the same breeder as I had gotten Bear. Doing that was very expensive. I hear there are actual rescue sites of particular breeds you are interested in. I know next time I want to get either a poodle or Pembroke Welsh Corgi. I want to go smaller as I get older.
