A Kestrel, which is a type of falcon.

I didn’t think it was a friendly visit and the hummingbirds didn’t either!

Kestrels like to hover in the still air and dive bomb their prey at up to 65 miles per hour. The Hummingbirds seemed to know this and cleared out tout de suite !

All except for this juvenile who is not even fully fledged yet. He thought it was a great opportunity to dominate the feeder. Of course since I was out and about, the poor kestrel had to look somewhere else for his morning meal!

And the juvenile hummer lived to fledge another day.

When the kestrel left, the hummers returned.

They are currently consuming approximately 32 ounces of nectar daily!

The kestrel is divine isn’t he? He was quite unafraid. Life at The Holler is really ‘for the birds’ and that is fine by me!

What To Do On a Saturday…….

Nothing like a good bowl of chicken noodle soup! This time I used spaghetti for my noodles and I think doing so makes a perfect bowl of soup! Happy Friday Wishes!!

Here is a pic my hubby took of our dog! My hubby is in his hospital room resting after his surgery. He had a hernia repaired.

His doctor said everything went well!

During his surgery I read some, crocheted some and watched some of my shows on Netflix.

Once they get his pain under manageable control I can take him home to rest in his own comfy bed!

In Honor of Fallen Police Dog

Breaks my heart, many prayers to their family and for the whole Police Force in their sad time of healing.

Sharing Today’s Happiness…….

As they say little things mean a lot! As I was leaving a platform in my train today, I noticed a little toddler in his stroller with his daddy, as I was pulling out of the platform, that little toddle was so tickled about my train that he was bouncing up and down in his stroller and laughing! That is so awesome that someone that little can love a big train! WoodstockWoodstock lost his friend (Snoopy) today. I was on another trip at a different platform and a mother and her little boy were watching me and my train. I motioned for the mom to come up to my window and I gave her the little Snoopy to give to her son. Her son acted like he was going to cry as he was shy and afraid of a stranger. She told me that he loves trains and I made her day by giving her son my little stuffed animal. That is what I love about my job is touching peoples lives even if it is in a small way! SmallPinkBeautyI am so enjoying people’s plants and flowers in their yards on Bear’s and my walks! Spring is so gorgeous!WeddingFlowerI call this “Wedding Flower” only because it looks like it should be in a wedding! It was at work and I had to photograph it!

Mexican Pulled Beef and Rice with Black Beans

My friend Jess shared this yummy looking Mexican Dish. I have to try this!!

I was scrolling through my WordPress reader a few weeks ago and saw some delicious looking shredded beef. It doesn’t help that I was hungry already but I knew that I had to have it. Especially after I read that it was “mexican” style. This shredded beef is supposedly a knock-off recipe for something served at a chain called Cafe Rio, which I have never heard of let along eaten at, but that didn’t stop me. Chuck roast cooked in your pressure cooker with enchilada sauce, tomato sauce, onion, garlic, cumin and some beef stock= a yummy burrito filling! Especially with some Mexican rice with black beans, which I also made. Or you could eat this over the rice in a bowl, which I also did. Teehee.
